Vocalist and composer Tammy Scheffer has been a distinctive voice in New York City’s music scene for over a decade, praised by the Chicago Tribune as “innovative, provocative, and alluring.” She brings her unique artistry to ensembles spanning jazz, progressive rock, and contemporary classical music, with recent appearances on albums by Stefan Bauer, Amanda Monaco, Asaf Sagiv, the Erica Seguine/Shon Baker Orchestra, and Joe Phillips. Scheffer has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Birdland, and the Kennedy Center, as well as at numerous international festivals in London, China, Spain, and beyond. In addition to her performing career, she maintains a private teaching studio and serves on the faculty at the New York Jazz Academy and LaGuardia Community College. She holds an M.M. in Jazz Composition from Queens College, a B.M. in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory, and a Certificate in Vocology from the University of Utah. She is also a PAVA-Recognized Vocologist and a member of the Recording Academy.
